Dean Alexandra Minna Stern is inviting you to a lunch and learn with UCHRI leadership. Interested in faculty funding opportunities from the UC Humanities Research Institute and want to know more about the advisory committee selection process? Join UCHRI Interim Director Julia Lupton and Research Grants Program Director Sara Černe for a grants presentation and Q&A. This year UCHRI is offering up to $25,000 grants for collaborative research projects, support for projects connected to its theme of Entanglement, an expanded Manuscript Workshop and Research Development opportunity, as well as continuing support for the UC-wide Underrepresented Scholars Fellowship.
Prospective PIs who would like to talk through a new or existing project are invited to stay through 3:00pm to discuss individual projects.
Bios:
Julia Reinhard Lupton is Interim Director of UCHRI and Distinguished Professor of English at UCI. In the past, she directed the Humanities Commons at UCI, where she also served as Associate Dean for Research. She is the author of five books on Shakespeare and a former Guggenheim Fellow.
Sara Černe is Research Grants Program Director at UCHRI. She holds a PhD in English from Northwestern University, where she also served as a graduate fellow at the Kaplan Institute for the Humanities and a researcher for a Mellon-funded Humanities Without Walls grant.
