World Languages Day

World Languages Day is an event where UCLA departments get to promote their language course offerings to undergraduate students in a fun and non-intimidating environment. There are more than 40 different languages taught at UCLA and this event provides an opportunity for students to discover language programs offered on campus, as well as language clubs and other cultural activities. Many departments and clubs come prepared with interactive materials, including games, trivia or simple language-based exercises that help make foreign languages accessible for students.

World Languages Day traditionally takes place on the Friday of week 0. This year’s event took place on Friday, September 27th from 10am-2pm in Bruin Plaza (by McClure Stage and Bruin Bear). See photos below!

World Languages Day 2019 was sponsored by the College of Letters and Science, Division of Humanities; the Department of French & Francophone Studies; the Department of Germanic Languages; the Department of Slavic, Eastern European & Eurasian Languages & Cultures; and the Department of Spanish & Portuguese.
