The Sixth Herbert Morris Lecture in Law and Philosophy will be presented by Anita Allen, the Vice Provost for Faculty and Henry R. Silverman Professor of Law, University of Pennsylvania.

Anita L. Allen is recognized for her scholarship about legal philosophy, women’s rights, and race relations, with a focus on privacy law, the philosophy of privacy, bioethics, and contemporary values. Her books include Unpopular Privacy: What Must We Hide (2011); The New Ethics: A Guided Tour of the 21st Century Moral Landscape (2004); Why Privacy Isn’t Everything: Feminist Reflections on Personal Accountability (2003); and Uneasy Access: Privacy for Women in a Free Society (1988).

The Lecture is in honor of UCLA’s Professor Herbert Morris, an eminent emeritus member of both the Law School and the Philosophy Department, for his contributions to the field of legal philosophy and for his contributions to the campus as a professor, dean, and interim provost.
