World Languages Day returns Feb. 5
World Languages Day will celebrate UCLA’s robust language programs.
January 7, 2025
|After a hiatus of 6 1/2 years, a cherished UCLA tradition returns on Feb. 5.
World Languages Day celebrates UCLA’s robust programs in global languages and the campus’s cultural diversity. Participants can get first-hand insights from representatives of some of UCLA’s nearly three dozen language programs, engage with faculty and fellow students, and learn about the academic and professional benefits of multilingualism.
Plus, the event offers interactive activities, cultural experiences and opportunities to win prizes — just for meeting with language department representatives.
World Languages Day began in 2009 as a collaboration among the French, Italian and German departments, but the event has grown into a campuswide initiative involving units from across the Division of Humanities and the UCLA International Institute. The event was last held in September 2018.
Be a part of the fun when World Languages Day returns on Feb. 5, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Bruin Plaza (map).
