Clark Library gets the flyover treatment on CBS LA’s ‘Look at This!’ feature

In a recurring segment on the CBS LA news, reporter Desmond Shaw gives viewers aerial views and brief histories of some of Los Angeles’ civic treasures.
This week, Shaw turned his helicopter-mounted lens on one of UCLA’s jewels.
His report begins, “Well, take a look at this beautiful building in West Adams. This is the William Andrews Clark Memorial Library, and it’s a lot more than just a library. It’s a building that’s world renowned for its historic contents.”
The Clark Library is a part of the UCLA Center for 17th- and 18th-Century Studies, and it often hosts concerts, performances and lectures organized by the center.
For the remainder of the two-minute report, as the camera shows of views of the library and its beautiful grounds, Shaw goes on to describe the Clark family’s legacy, the 1920s construction of the building and its deeding to UCLA, and its global standing as a leading resource for British literature and the preeminent collection of works by and about Oscar Wilde.
