You will have an opportunity to hear from alumni about their career trajectories and how you can maximize your undergraduate education to prepare you for a legal career after graduation.

Tatyana Akbarian

Tatyana completed her undergraduate studies at UCLA, earning a degree in Philosophy with cum laude distinction. Continuing her pursuit of higher education, Tatyana attended Loyola Law School, where she actively engaged in extracurricular activities, such as competing in the Transactional Negotiation Team. This experience honed her negotiation skills and provided her with valuable insight into the legal profession. As an attorney at Lawyers for Justice, Tatyana currently specializes in labor and employment law, where she advocates for the rights of employees facing Labor Code violations in both state and federal court.
Firass Halawi

I am a first-generation Arabic speaking Lawyer with trial & policy experience. I earned my law degree from the University of California Los Angeles School of Law. As a public defender I completed 18 jury trials to verdict at the San Francisco Public Defenders office and the Alternate Public Defenders office where I presently work. Prior to my work as a public defender, I worked for the United Nations Development Program as part of an initiative for the former Secretary General Ban Ki-moon on policy related issues, most notably in the area of IP, Trade and Human Rights.
