Eligibility to participate in the Humanities ceremony

Students must have a degree expected term in one of the approved Humanities majors and minors for one of the following quarters: fall 2025, winter 2026, spring 2026 or summer 2026.

Commencement FAQs

Yes, tickets are required. Each graduating student must show a valid ticket (either on a mobile device or printed) at the participant entrance.

Tickets for all ceremonies will be distributed electronically between Thursday, May 28, and Thursday, June 11. All tickets will be sent by the Central Ticket Office (CTO) from cto@tickets.ucla.edu. Please be sure to check that your email account is accurate in MyUCLA, and also check your email account’s spam folder frequently, to be sure you do not overlook these important messages.

Yes. A ticket is required for every person attending the ceremony, so that event staff have an accurate count of the number of attendees, which is required in the event of an emergency, and because patrons with babies often use a second seat for baby items.

The division’s Commencement Coordinator will assess after ticketing ends for students on or around May 27, 2026, and will let the students know via my.ucla.edu soon after that if waitlist tickets will be released. An email from your department’s student affairs officer will inform you of waitlist tickets being released.

Please see the Disability Accommodation page on the UCLA College Commencement website for resources and information. Royce Hall and Humanities Division staff are unable to assist.

No. Due to limited capacity in the venue, we cannot accommodate any student who is not a declared major or minor under the Humanities Division’s participating departments.

The Humanities Division uses the College Commencement Online Program. If you have UCLA directory restrictions or FERPA restrictions, your name may not show up in the program. Please contact the College Commencement staff to ask for your name to be included in the program with directory or FERPA restrictions.

The ceremony will last no longer than 1 hour and 45 minutes.
