The UCLA Humanities Advisory Board is a group of passionate individuals committed to advancing the mission of the humanities at UCLA, including:
- Promoting innovative research and teaching across a broad range of disciplines.
- Equipping students with the skills necessary to lead culturally rich lives as informed citizens.
- Nurturing an open and lively community of ideas that seeks to interpret the world’s legacy of language, literature and art, particularly in connection with the Los Angeles community.
Through attendance and participation at Advisory Board meetings, selected activities throughout the year, and philanthropic support, Advisory Board members demonstrate their volunteer leadership on behalf of the division.
As advisors, ambassadors and supporters, members provide advice and counsel to the dean and advocate for the interests and philanthropic priorities of the humanities at UCLA. Members engage in thoughtful discussion around the big questions, challenges and ideas that will propel the humanities into the next century.
