Clark Library receives grant to digitize 17th- and 18th-century manuscripts

The William Andrews Clark Memorial Library, one of UCLA’s major libraries for rare books and manuscripts, has received a grant for $194,000 to produce digital fascimiles of 300 bound manuscripts produced in Great Britain in the 17th and 18th centuries.

The 2015 Digitizing Hidden Special Collections and Archives Awards are given by the Council on Library and Information Resources, with funding provided by the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation. The Clark’s “Digitizing British Manuscripts at UCLA’s Clark Library, 1601–1800” proposal is one of 18 proposals submitted by libraries nationwide that were selected for the award.
