California Medieval History Seminar, Spring 2018

The Spring Session of the California Medieval History Seminar meets at the Huntington Library to discuss four pre-distributed research papers. Participants are scholars in the field at various stages of their careers. All attendees at the seminar are expected to read the papers in advance and discuss the research.     “The Intriguing Story of the Gothic Parisian Psalter in the Seminary Library in Padua (MS 353)”
  • Rory Cox (University of St Andrews)
    “Medieval and Modern Waterboarding – from barbaric torture to torturing barbarians”
  • Sherri Franks Johnson (Louisiana State University)
    “The Battle over Santa Cecilia della Croara: Canons, Monks and Monastic Reform”
